Ilkeston FC Football Scholarship Programme 2012/13
We are looking to recruit the next generation of football talent to add to their current successful crop of young players.
The current group have been hugely successful since the Academy was set up in August 2010, winning the Central Conference League & Cup double in their first season and more honours in 2011-12.
Manager Kevin Wilson oversees the development of the Academy and has already seen seven members of the current squad progress through the system to represent the first-team. The real success story of the 2011/ 12 season is Tyrell Waite. The young striker, who will forever hold a place in Ilkeston FC history as the first player ever to score a League goal for them, attracted firm attention from the likes of Nottingham Forest, Reading, Birmingham City and Burnley before securing a permanent move to Notts County.
Ilkeston FC run their Football Scholarship Scheme in partnership with SR Education, an experienced private training provider based in East Bridgford, Nottinghamshire. SR Education currently deliver a wide range of quality full and part-time vocational sports related training programmes in partnership with various high profile organisations and stakeholders.

Football Scholarship Programme
Ilkeston FC Academy offer a high-quality football development experience to all players with highly qualified coaches delivering the programme. It is led by Kevin Wilson, the former Chelsea and Northern Ireland striker, who holds a Pro-Licence and Academy Managers Licence, and his assistant Darren Caskey, the former Tottenham and Reading midfielder, who is a UEFA B licence coach. The football development programme consists of a combination of between 12-16 hours per week of elite training sessions and a competitive games programme.
The IFC Fitness Coach will help provide scholars with expert nutritional advice and guidance along with an extensive strength and conditioning programme and a personal development plan. It is aimed at helping all players to develop specific aspects of their performance and enable coaches to maximise the football specific coaching sessions throughout the programme. Video Analysis is also a key part of the Academy Player Development Programme, with Gamebreaker used to assess the level of performance for each individual, and to monitor their role within the team structure.
The competitive games programme consists of fixtures at a variety of exciting venues across the country, including the opportunities to compete against professional clubs such as Nottingham Forest, Leeds United and Reading. Transport is provided on match days to and from the venue. All players will receive a club tracksuit and training kit, including bag.
SR Elite have established strong links and exit routes with many professional and semi-professional football clubs and universities, in both the UK and USA, for the outstanding performers within the groups.
