Academy fall to Lincoln in FA Youth Cup

Ilkeston FC's Academy saw their FA Youth Cup run come to an end last night as they were overcome 4-1 by a strong Lincoln team at the New Manor Ground.
Star striker Jordan Thomas scored twice in the first half to make it nine goals in three appearances in the competition, with a penalty and a further goal early in the second half leaving Ryan Osborne to score a consolation late on.
Manager Kevin Wilson was pleased to see that his young team fought all the way to the final whistle but added: "All of the goals could have been prevented and we must learn not to give the ball away in dangerous areas.
"A lot of first year players made up the team and they are disappointed but they will learn from it. I felt that some key decisions didn't go our way - the penalty looked like a tough call - but when poor decisions go against you, you have to make your own luck."
