Academy set up Lincoln FA Youth Cup tie
Thursday 11 October

Our Academy side swept into the third qualifying round of the FA Youth Cup with a 5-1 victory at New Mills last night.
Having beaten Hinckley United 1-0 at home in our first match in the competition, the youngsters did much of the damage in the second half of the first period.
Grant Tobin opened the scoring in the 24th minute and then missed a penalty, but by half time we were still four goals to the good as Jan Yeomans (30), Courey Grantham (35) and Ryan Osborne (43) also struck.
Osborne added a second in the 50th minute from the spot to extend the lead to 5-0, but that was to be the end of our scoring before the hosts netted a consolation.
New Mills’ cause was not helped by also missing a penalty and having a player sent off for a professional foul.
The Academy’s triumph – their third in as many games this season – lines up a clash with Blue Square Bet Premier side Lincoln City at the New Manor Ground next Wednesday, October 17.
A kick-off time has still to be arranged but admission prices have been confirmed as £5 for adults, £3 for concessions and £1 for under-16s accompanied by an adult.
The winners of the tie will then take on Notts County at home in the first round proper on a date to be set in early November.
